Volunteer Macon, established in 1973, is the prime resource
in the community for the recruitment and referral of individuals and training in
all areas of volunteer management. Volunteer Macon works to
promote volunteering as a powerful force for change, both for those who
volunteer and for the wider community. Our web site offers a range of resources
for anyone who works with or manages volunteers as well as to those who want to
volunteer.
As the essential partner in improving the quality of life throughout middle
Georgia, we recruit and place volunteers, support nonprofit organizations to do
their work well, and connect people to information and resources that lead to
effective community service delivery. In addition to assisting many
organizations to obtain qualified volunteers, an important objective of Volunteer
Macon is to actively promote the concept and value of volunteerism to
the community, the businesses, and to individuals, while also providing a wide
variety of training for all to achieve their goals.
Volunteer Macon is the host of two Corporation for
National and Community Service Programs, Our Americorps*VISTA
program and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Middle
Georgia. We are an affiliate of the Points of Light Foundation
and Volunteer Center National Network, an affiliate of the Hands on
National Network, a host for Macon’s Promise, and an affiliate of
America’s Promise.
