The Youth Volunteer Corps of Macon and Middle Georgia is a not for profit network of programs that offer young people ages 11 to 18, the opportunity to improve their community through volunteering. Our wish is to provide our volunteers with an experience that is challenging, rewarding and educational. We want to encourage our youth to learn about their community and its diversity while developing important job-related skills. Historic Macon Foundation and the Sidney Lanier Cottage are seeking Volunteers!
The Sidney Lanier Cottage is in need of volunteers for special events and as docents or tour guides. Full training and a volunteer handbook is provided. Docents who come to a training and take one or more regular monthly shifts will receive a complimentary membership or membership upgrade. Volunteers are needed for one or two 4-hour shifts per month. Summer Camp at The GA Children's Museum
"Our Perfect Planet" is an enrichment program for students from first through 6 grade on June 22-26 and July 6-10 from 8:00am-4:00pm. Volunteers 16 or older are needed to help. All volunteers over 18 will be required to have a background check and a 3 hr. training, "Darkness to Light". This training is available online for $25.
